Mk7 problem please help mega noob

Postby Azman2026 » Sun Sep 25, 2016 10:41 am

Hi guys I've been tralling all posts that relate to my problem I'm seeing a few different answers but want someone to see if they can identify the problem for my situation ok so..

Van is 57 plate recently in 2nd and 3rd gear the power will just cut down to nothing full pedal down and it goes no where. Sometimes it can just cut out if it can't get out of the slowness *sometimes it does and will kick in.

If turn the van off and then on it will fire up and then instantly die. It will do this 3 times and then normally starts again the 4th time and drives fine for a while.

I can drive it fine in all gears sometimes but the problem. Will kick in at some point it's very hit and miss.

I'm reading posts about a new pressure relief valve and software update after.. my mate says he had this problem and an air filter and new fuel pump solved it...

I get no warning lights come on and it's fine when I'm going fast it's in the the low gears.. I dont think it's an egr problem? ANY help would be highly helpfull I haven't a clue with anything to do with vans and I need to get it working asap I just want to nail down the problem thank you so much for reading.

OK thanks guys gonna have a look at the pressure valve and see if it's that hopefully it is and can just get it done at ford.. what's the scv? Can we pretty much say that this isn't an egr problem from the symptoms described?. Thanks for reading.

If your EGR was playing up, it will have logged a DTC and the EML light would come on.

If your PRV valve comes out in pieces, it will be the SCV causing it....best to replace both valves with genuine Ford items and do all the learns along with PCM update via IDS...!

IDS will have logged faults if anything daft is going on.
