Temperature Sensor

Postby Jaydensdaddy2009 » Sat Nov 19, 2016 8:13 pm

Hi all I have a 2008 mk7 transit 2.2 fwd Swb. I would like someone to help me locate the temperature sender. I have just had new genuine thermostat and housing fitted as my temp would start moving up from cold but then would go back down then get to half way and stay there. Someone suggested thermostat but it's still happening so I think it could be the sender switch now but can't locate the it. Thanks.

They don't have a coolant temp sensor as such...they do have a cylinder head temp sensor....See here #6G004, Pn: 1770525

If you're getting fluctuating coolant temps, I'd suggest you have a look good at the waterpump/PAS drive, they have a habit of dying on the FWD machines if they have a few miles on.

They sit halfway as normal , if you're turning your heater on before it reaches halfway may stop ir heating up properly in cold weather

Hello
Interested to see if the original issue was resolved in the end!

Is the water pump/pas failure manifested in temperature guage fluctuation?

What could cause the guage not to move at all, with ignition on or engine on or even when engine is warmed up?

Grateful for any suggestions!
