Hu101 key

Postby loot » Fri Jan 13, 2017 10:21 am

I bought a spare remote key fob today which has a blank, can i take it to Ford and get them to cut it from my key?

Anyone know how much roughly?

Mk8 and custom and new connect flat blade with scores on both sides :-)

Thanks.

Where did you get the key, and which version of IDS can code it :?:

My sons company 2016 Connect only has one key as the last engineer who drove it, appears to have lost the spare

Thanks, I've never dealt with auto locksmiths before, up here the call out charges are more than the job usually

I just thought about Ford as I'll be taking the shed in to be looked at see.

I have ids v96.01 and i can program the fob, i want the key blade cutting only.

Etis says I've got 2 remotes and I'll suggest that the other 1 is in a cupboard at hilti somewhere :-( was going to ask but i got this fob for 30 quid :-)

Bad news everyone :-( ids v96.01 introduces pats security. Log in over Wi-Fi using active x controls and won't let you in without our without Wi-Fi.

This means to have ids you must have internet connection either Wi-Fi or tether :?

The log in is for Ford personnel or for aftermarket security personnel who have registered with the locksmith body NASTF.

I'm going to try v95.03 Ford to see if it will connect to my custom and allow access the old way.

But otherwise Ford can't fix our vans and now we can't.

Oh there is an obd gizmo I've just seem a video i might have to get 1 but it depends how much Ford want to program my key. Etc.

Shi*e.

And it's bloody windy i hate windy.

I know it does not directly help you as mine is a 2011 Mk7, but I was quoted £240 for a spare key by my local ford dealer, £105 by a local auto locksmith, and £50 by a local mechanic.

Needless to say I got the mechanic to do it, £50 to supply the key, cut it, and fit and program the transponder.

Like you say, the manufacturers are doing everything they possibly can, to ensure that only they can fix anything on their vehicles - with the usual king's ransom payment as your only option.

Cheers, i agree, it's only to be expected tho tbh so I'm not bitter at the manufacturers, i just don't think the sheer cost of things is right, OK the government probably levee a big tax on it all but ffs 200+ for something that it's photoshoot worth probably 5 pounds.

Anyway that aside, i refuse to be forced to become dependant on others :? (As much as i can help it)

My mk7 key probably cost me 45 pounds and i programmed it myself.

Not over yet

If you can find one of those gizmos punto let me know as I'd be interested (not to steel vans though ) iv looked and can't find it
just follow the onscreen instructions and it's fairly idiot proof...trouble is, we keep producing better idiots
