Maybe this might be help if so someone can put it in the proper place (starts with a focus and ends with a transit so thats why im posting it) got a rs focus in and the fella that owned it wanted a faclift dash fitted hed been several places but noone could do it so I tried no joy with ids 86.04 turns out the doner clocks were keyless entry did a bit of digging and tried forscan it in conjunction with another handy programme called elm config was able to bypass some of the protocols tell the clocks they were keyed upload the asbuilt, prog the keys and get the car running anyways same guy has a nice custom and his injectors went down again 86.04 would not talk to it .too old for the van forscan did injectors and learns no probs tried it on my own mk7 again works ok was able to add a key from the outcode and incode generated so it seems to work
For the custom I havnt tried keys or as built but if i get the chance I will and post the results .If you are going to try this it uses an elm 327 adaptor and it has to have the ford hs/ms can switch modification for you to be able to see all modules there is also an as built comparison programme where you can use up to 4 different chassis files to configure a vehicle whilst enabling modules not active on the one your working at ie find another transit with a function you want pick the relavant file from a similar vehicle with the required add on and use the file to activate the said function again hope this helps btw dont run it on the same laptop as you do for other diagnostics cos it can overwrite the firmware on a vcm 11 (if you have a spare vcm11 it will use it as the intrface same as an elm but much faster)
