Mk6 2.4 Diesel pump wiring

Whilst diagnosing a probable pump failure on my 2001 mk6 90ps I was advised to check the wiring between the pump EDC and the PCM as well as the fusebox, apparently this loom can chafe on the starter motor and give similar diagnostic codes as a failed pump EDC.

Having found it impossible to find a wiring diagram for this part of the electrical system on my van I pulled the loom and traced the wires manually.
I've made these 3 photo's to help anyone else in the same boat in the future, the wiring from the pump plug goes to 2 places, the Red and black wire goes to the fusebox relay number 206, pin 5, the rest go to the PCM on the bulkhead above the coolant expansion bottle.

In my case the wiring is ok, no loss of continuity on any of the wires even with moving and yanking the loom around.

It's always worth checking anyway, but faulty wiring is more common on a FWD, due to the path of the wires around the starter motor, being very tight :)

post is a few years old now but has been a life saver! i have removed my engine wiring loom and am repairing/replacing wires and plugs,but i got two wires confused as from the pump plug on mine there are two r/b wires! couldn't remember which way around they went. so a massive thank you indeed.
