Wiper intermittent fault

Slight annoying problem. When I put the wipers on intermittent today it wouldn't work. Played about with the speed setting and it would wipe once when you flicked it from a fast setting to a slower setting but then nothing. One touch works fine and the normal speed works fine. Wipers park correctly when switched off. I've done a little research and wiper relay and stalk seem to pop up. Anyone got any further ideas?

Is it auto sensor wipers

If it's a mk7 then there is no relay, it's bcm controlled and I'd be checking the earths first.

If it's auto wipers, there is no intermittent, it only wipes if the sensor detects rain, the slider is to control sensitivity, not speed.

Ah right never knew that. It's a limited and has auto lights, so has it got auto wipers too then?
