Ford transit engine cut off Please help!!

Postby Britishsems » Mon Apr 17, 2017 10:02 am

Hi there well I currently own a ford transit tourneo 2.0 2004 140k miles on the clock, issue is when I'm driving down a long high speed road e.g. The motorway the engine would randomly cut off at times, it'd still be moving but I'd have to turn the key and turn it back on again the warning light also flashes as its turning off. I have checked the fuel filter but I have been told it may be a couple of things e.g. Fuel pump, sensors, injectors. Thanks

You need to get the codes read.

I'm betting its a tdci and you'll need new injectors, but get the codes read to confirm. N

First read codes, if it is error P1211 or P0251 or both and it is 2,0 tdci engine - ask for overflow injector test (it is not expensive).
If overlow will be too heavy - injectors must be regenerated. Taking new injectors is maybe least troublesome, but most expensive.
Injectors regeneration need new valves or also sprayers (use only geniune Delphi parts). In Poland it costs half price of new injectors, maybe in UK it can be same. :?:

If overflow test is ok, you need connect good tester and test high pressure pomp in various conditions.
