hi guys,
i thought i already sent this but it seems i didn't !!! you are of coarse correct and me being a dick head did in fact think i was looking at the cam belt when in fact i was, as suggested, looking at the alternator belt;; so thanks guys for pointing that out; i assume the chain if it has jumped was due to wear of the chain or tensioner etc ? and it looks too big a job i think to tackle myself;
i am happy for the local garage to do this, but is there something that i could check in my limited knowledge , which would i'n fact' confirm this as the cause of the problem;??
it was mentioned earlier to look down the oil filler cap at the bolts to see if any are loose but i cant see anything; looking at the cover on top of the head, it looks like i would have to remove the injector pipes in order to get this off?? is that the case, or would i be better just to give the van to the garage and ask them to replace or check that the chain has jumped, which im sure you have suggested correctly;
if there is more damage, then i would probably not proceed if it ran over a 1000 euro; and plan to purchase another van;
and perhaps i could also ask for advice here on what to look for and what to avoid; i would have about 8k max to spend, but would like perhaps a trend or limited spec, with air con a must down here; around 2011/12, 115/125ps ,,,,,?? SO any advice would be greatly received but lets confirm the worst with the van first;
