Clutch/Gearbox Issue

I really hope one of you good people out there can help. I have just bought an LDV Convoy with 2.5 ltr Transit engine and I am having an intermittent issue. Normally my gear changes are smooth and unproblematic but when I have been sat in 5th on the motorway for a period of time when I get to the slip road I can not select any gear. I slow the van down and try and change down through the gears but once it comes out of 5th I can't select any other gear. I have to stop, shut down the engine and wait for approx 2 minutes before I can then select 1st and drive away. Has anybody else experienced this or have any ideas. Cheers

Have you checked the oil in the gearbox It may be worth draining it and refilling with MT75 oil, as many of these have been incorrectly filled with standard gearbox oil

I have just had a full service this week all fluids changed. The garage did fine one of the cylinders was degraded and replaced it but issue remains.

Gearbox oil is never changed with a routine service, so it's worth checking.
The gearbox on my LDV seized up on me on a motorway run, apparently because there was no oil in it, and that was regularly serviced by a garage
