CABLE ACCESS.

Postby mtbcol » Tue May 23, 2017 9:39 pm

Anyone know an easy/quick way to run a cable or two from the engine compartment to the inside dash area on a mark 7. Don't want to drill and holes if possible. Had a quick look just now with a torch, but couldn't see anything obvious. I want to fit my outside temperature sensor.

Also is there anywhere, again easy to locate/tap into, in the dash area I can pick up a permanent live?

Cheers.

Colin. :)

Just been reading about piggy back fuses, anyone used these? Are they safe?

Need something permanently live to tap into.

Permanent live under your seat, there's probably a wire and plug already there for your outside temp sensor at offside inner wing

Thanks andz.
Yes, I'm aware of the one under my seat, but was being extra lazy and didn't want to have to try and hide the run from the seat to the dash, already had the front "mat" out and put back in about a month or so ago, not easy!...... I know forward planning!

My temp sensor is an aftermarket one so probably won't be able to attach it to the ford loom? :( . Any idea what the wire colour is in case?

Thanks for your help, as always a great forum.

Colin.
