MK7 2.2 problems

The Gearbox on my transit went, so we took it out and had it rebuilt . We put the gearbox back in and started the engine, left it running for 10 mins, came back to it, and it had spat all the engine oil out of the exhaust.

We put fresh oil into the engine, it cranks over and sounds as if it has compression, but won't fire ?

Any ideas.

Pull pipe off the turbo and check impeller for breakage, very loose as that's usually the fault when oil is dumped into exhaust, unfortunately the timing chain tensioner works by oil pressure and if its ran dry it's sounds as though the chain has lost tension jumped teeth and snapped when pistons hit the valves

From that little story, I'd say a faulty turbo sucked up all the oil and blew it out the exhaust.

That can be terminal in a lot of cases.
Can't see why else it would have done it?
