Hello,
I recently purchased a 2012 Ford transit Trend 350.
The seller told me about the radio but that I probably just need to save the code.
Upon further examination, I find that the radio should save the code automatically but doesn't.
I did a bit of research and found that it could be the fuse, or a cable connection issue at the back of the radio.
I checked the fuse box and found an issue. Both the fuses for "battery saver supply, #72" and "restraints control module, #68" were 25 Amp fuses instead of 10 amp fuses. I've read the battery saver supply is part of what keeps the radio connected to the battery, and if it isn't working correctly, the radio will think it is reconnected and ask for the code again.
I replaced both of them but found the problem persisted. I tried removing the radio, but one of the pin clups is bent around the back of the dash dash, so I can't take it out with keys normally.
So firstly, I'm wondering of the wrong fuses could have permanently damaged something? This is important because the restraints control has to do with the airbags, and maybe the radio as well.
Secondly, is there any other way if examining the back of the radio? Would I have to take apart the dash or something?
Finally, does anyone else have a clue what the problem could be? I'm new to all this and any help would be appreciated.
