Unknow metal bits found in sump?

Postby leoscorp » Mon Jul 03, 2017 10:06 am

Ford transit 2.4 Duratorq Turbo Diesel

After hearing knocking noise "like a tappet ticking" I started to inspect engine.

Removed sump (Oil Pan) and found what looks and remains of a bearing with pin rollers.
Have taken head cover off and inspected the rockers and values. All good.

I have taken off the sump (oil pan), value cover and front cover to find this broken part. No luck.
Have talked to ford and no one can tell me where in the engine is a roller pin bearing that when broken can find it way to the bottom of the engine in the oil pan.

Some one give me a clue please.
