Mk7 Non starter

Postby DCha10 » Tue Jul 04, 2017 5:29 pm

Transit mk7 2.2 fwd

Driving down the road, cog light eliminated and rev counter stopped working. So stopped about a mile down the road, backed into a space and turned the old girl off thinking I would look at it after I had been in the shop.

Went to start it again and it just dosent cough into life, tries but dosent happen.

Plugged the scanner into it and it said cam sensor, new one from ford and still nothing??

Now it says no communication??

Have also noticed when you turn the ignition on the rev counter fluctuates a little up and down for a few seconds? All fuses seem fine so do the earths etc etc

Anyone have any ideas?

Cog light is the fuel management light

Check the fuel rail pressure

No comms could be crank sensor not communicating / synching with cam sensor, crank sensor or timing chain jumped

Give us the reading of your fuel press and RPM at cranking. Your scanner should also have a Crank/Cam synchronisation parameter.
And a fault code with its description awell

Crankshaft sensor might not be communicating with cam sensor, faulty sensor or timing chain problem, read codes would help as above mentioned

Have fitted new cam sensor, new crank sensor and still the bloody thing won't start.

If I plug the scanner in it sometimes says not syncing???

Have really lost all love and wish I had kept my mk6!

Would the actual speedo cluster cause it not to start as I know the focus/mk6 transit had an issue with this?
