Ford Transit MK5 2.5 Td 100 ps

Postby wwwooolll » Sun Jul 09, 2017 12:49 am

Hi, my name is Mathew and im new here. Sorry for my English. I have a problem on my Camper Laika, with Ford Transit MK5 van. It was me causing the problem, i disonnected the socket with a lot of wires on my Lucas Epic pump, not with ignition on, but with battery still connected. I have a problem that the engine is not shutting down when i turn the key on off position, the engine is running for other 20 seconds and then shuts down, i thought the problem was the pins on the pump were not in good contact or something and i removed the socket, spray it with contact lubrificant and reffited on the pump again. I turned the ignition on and started the engine, and the red engine light is not going off, and the machine has no power at all, we have connected the OBD to the tester that showed 8 faults, that we can not erase. What i did wrong?? How can i fix that?? Hope someone can help me.

Many thanks in advanced.

The electronic shut off solenoid (ESOS) in the pump is faulty, it probably needs new seals.
Because it's not working the van goes into limp mode.

If it has a manual gearbox, start it up and let it run for a few moments, then put it in fifth gear, and stall it while turning the key off at the same time.

Then restart it and it should run ok.

Matt is it possible to read the faults on a mk5 epic with the paper clip thing to get flash codes like to guy did with the mk4 recently?
If so it might save a lot of people a lot of grief with trying to read codes.
