another new starter motor

Postby colin richard » Sun Jul 23, 2017 10:12 pm

Just over a year ago I called the RAC out and they fitted a new Bosch starter motor to my MK6 transit crewcab. Gave me a 12 month warranty on it. 2 weeks after the warranty ran out, the starter motor has gone again. Cant believe it, its only done about 5,000 miles since being fitted,
Does this seem right to anyone ?

As I believe, prior to me buying the truck 3 years ago, the previous owner fitted a solid DMF.
The symptoms are a heavy clicking when I turn the key. The battery is fine, all the lights show on dash. And it won't start on jump leads.

Where are you attaching the jump leads? Try direct to the starter terminals.
