N/S Wheelbearing MK6 FWD

Postby thegordyz » Sun Aug 06, 2017 1:56 pm

Hi to all and many thanks for all the help you have given me previously. I would have scrapped this van by now if it weren't for this forum. Its Sunday and I in a desperate situation....again. Work tomorrow and its looking like another unpaid day off. I have to buy a grinder to get the bearing out. Would a 4.5inch or 5inch grinder do the trick? 9 inch are expensive from screw fix and thats my only option today. A speedy response wouldbe appreciated greatly as I still have to go and buy it before4 O'clock. Kind regards, Sam.

Thanks for the reply. Just been and bought me a 5 inch angle grinder and some cutting discs. Will be cutting out the wheel bearing after removal of rounded off hub bolt. Don't you love it when you start a job and someone else has already had a half arsed attempt at it first! I don't mind if I round them off myself, but when some other buggers done it and it makes your life 10 times harder it f*** grates on me it really does!

Found a broken off Torx bit in one of mine, loose enough I couldn't get a decent purchase to drill it out, stuck enough it wouldn't come out ......
