Transit Custom Alloy wheel load rating ?

Postby motorman116 » Sun Aug 20, 2017 10:31 am

I like the look of the Ford Transit Custom Alloy wheel, (not as many holes / spokes to clean as the alloys on my van).. Does anyone know the load rating of them, as my van is a 350 long wheel base (Class 7) so the load rating of the wheels is checked on the Mot, also what wheel nuts will I require, as Im not too sure the custom nuts fit (I will require 2 x locking wheel nuts per wheel)...
These....

All I know is that the thread pitch of Custom studs are different to the pitch on Mk7 studs, but your alloy nuts should fit those wheels, assuming they're both tapered :)

Would imagine they're the right weight rating as I've seen them on mk8s not just customsImage

The wheel nuts are different, the alloys on my van can use the standard Mk7 steel wheel nuts if I need to (ones with the flat washer)

I believe the tread pattern is different between the mk7 & the custom so you'll need mk7 alloy wheels nuts. N

the mk8 custom alloys have tapered nuts, so you need to use tapered nuts with the right tread pitch to screw on the mk7 studds,

The MK7 alloys were rated for the 3500kg vans, so I would imagine that these will be as well
