Mk7 Transit dashboard lights staying on all night

Postby valetman » Sun Aug 20, 2017 11:05 pm

Evening all
I have a Mk7 Transit which has developed a fault. The dash lights are staying on after key has been removed and all lights are switched off.....
Has anyone had any dealings with this problem, had a look at some similar threads but none of the solutions such as unplugging the abs pump,
unplugging & checking the fuses, etc has worked. Anyone got any ideas
TIA
Cheers

Just spoke to he head mechanic down at my local Ford garage , he's stumped as well, all he said was that it could be the battery is on its way out , but it does start every morning .....so i dunno, guess it may be time to call the auto spark in ....( sighs )

If it's RWD, (or a FWD with optional twin batteries), then the front one may be on the way out
1994 Mk4 SWB 115 Minibus 70ps Di (R.I.P.)
1997 Mk5 SWB 115 Minibus 70ps Di (Gone, but not forgotten!)
2004 Mk6 SWB T280 Medium Roof 85PS 2.0 TDDi - Vantunered (Also gone)
2008 Mk7 SWB T280 Medium Roof 85PS 2.2 TDCi - Also Vantunered

I had this on my Focus once, turned out the misses had left the spare key in the centre console

It's a common fault in twin battery vans

Evening all
So just a wee update on my original post.....turns out after exhausting just about every other possibility
i found that the culprit for the dash lights staying on all night was in fact the front battery. So bought a
new one and all is now well, and thanks for everyones thoughts and helpful suggestions
Many thanks guys
