Gutless on hills

Postby Andycush » Wed Sep 06, 2017 4:23 pm

Hi guys, I bought a mk6 2.4 125 T350 a few months ago to convert to a camper but I've noticed a intermittent loss of throttle, its done it twice now and both times started revving high until I put my foot under pedal and lifted it then no revs at all until I stop and restart the engine then its fine again, but my main query is that the van drives fantastic on the flat but seems really sluggish on inclines? I'm tipping the first part of intermittent throttle loss could just be the pedal sensor but could this be the cause of low power on hills too? Thanks in advance

No mate I'm struggling to find anyone local with the right diagnostic gear as yet and I don't want to take it to ford if possible, I've cleaned egr and blanked it off but I'm not sure I've done it correctly, I tried moving the (what I assume is a piston) in the egr but couldn't budge it by pressing a wooden dowel in the hole where it lives so I don't know if its stuck open or closed to be honest, the piston is a fair way down the hole, would this cause a power problem? Cheers Andy

Start off by changing the accelerator pedal mate...

2 bolts i think, took me 5 mins to do..cost 20 quid on ebay

That sorted out so many power/performance problems for me
