I've heard those ones are good but not tried one myself. It's the modified version so you can use it for full functionality on newer transits like MK7 but you won't need to flick the switch when using it on the MK6.

They only reason to modify them is for use with programs like Forscan so i'd be very surprised if you managed to get on that couldn't handle the full obd protocol that forscan uses

This one on Amazon has a review saying it works with FORScan https://www.amazon.co.uk/LUJII-Interfac ... 1504778581

It wouldn't have full functionality on MK7's but fine for MK6. It has WIFI too so you can use it with the FORScan app on a phone if that's any use to you (it's helped me out when my van died for no apparent reason) Also it's fun to sit on your laptop in the house changing the revs on the van over wifi  Simple things...

Yeah, the fordscan software is really easy to install. It's free for windows and that's the full version with more features. You can get it as an app for about £5 to use on android / iphone which has a few less features but still does all the main diagnostic stuff.

With the ELM327 I have a bluetooth one in my mk7 and a wifi one in the mk6 and they both work fine with Forscan. I've coded injectors, programmed new keys and used it for a load of diagnostic stuff

Haha, same with mine. I'm hoping it was nothing to do with me messing about with it though! I gave in and took it to the garage today so hoping I'll have a working van again sometime soon. Most hassle-some vehicle I've ever owned

All you should have to do is plug the adapter in to the van and turn the ignition on. Next go to your Wifi settings and look at the available networks. One should be called OBD or something, connect to that. Once it says it's connected click the connect to vehicle button in Forscan and it should connect and show what modules it has found in the vehicle, once that's done you can view any dtc's and look at live data etc
