LCD screens staying illuminated/Electrical problems

Hi,

I've always had some good advice on here so thought I'd get people's views on this one.

I've got an 09 Mk7 transit. I've noticed recently that the small LCD screen on the dashboard and also the radio have been staying illuminated after the van is locked. I know it normally does this then switches off after a while but these are staying permanently lit up.
My van is usually driven for long periods every day, however it hasn't been driven for 3 days and I have tried to start but have a flat battery.

I have been noticing some other strange things happening with the dashboard such as the rear fog light symbol briefly flashing on when I touch the brake and also the dashboard illuminations rapidly flashing when the headlights have been in auto mode (this isn't all the symbols flashing, just the ones that are normally illuminated when the headlights are on).

This doesn't happen all the time and doesn't seem to have any pattern to it.

It seems as though there is some kind of electrical problem somewhere. Im not sure if the LCD screens staying on are all related to this but something is draining the battery.

All suggestions and advice are greatly appreciated.

Check under your seat for 2 batteries, front 1 if present will be fubar.
Alternatively a loose connection, ignition switch is a common fail point.

Illuminating fog switch when braked I'll say is a problem at the rear light clusters, also could be water ingress in the tow bar electrical socket if fitted.

You may have fault codes stored for lights/electrics.
