MK6 fuel tank

Postby pete59 » Wed Sep 13, 2017 8:07 am

Hi

I have a query regarding the fuel tank in my 2006 swb transit. The tank only takes around 20 litres of fuel from the fuel guage showing empty to full. This seems a very small capacity. Is it possible there is a blockage in the tank or is there likely a fault with the sender or the fuel guage.

Another issue is if I fill it full until the fuel nozzle clicks, I get a lot of fuel escaping and pouring on the floor.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Sounds like a blockage, they're 80 litre tanks.

If you getting fuel all over the floor the the breather pipe has perched and needs replacing

Witch you will have to take the tank on to do

Thanks.

Is it a big job. How long would it take a mechanic to do. Just trying to get an idea of cost.
