Mk7 2.2dci fwd, Please help

Postby Gaz1157 » Fri Sep 22, 2017 8:05 pm

Hi guys

Temperature gauge has stopped working and the fan is running very fast and constantly!

This problem has arisen since I’ve put the injectors back in after replacing all the seals.

Can’t understand what’s going on though?
It was all working before I stripped in down and I’ve made sure everything i disconnected is reconnected.

I need to use it tomorrow and I’ll be doing about 70miles and I’m worried I’m going to end up with even more trouble...

Thanks

Don't know much about the mk7's but did you disconnect the wires to the fan and temp sender? If so is the correct one on the correct part. N

Only unplugged one 2pin plug that sits above the gearbox between the fuel pump and the oil pump... if that makes sense?

Don’t recall unplugging anything else

I hope so, I’ve unplugged it and plugged it back in twice since.

Is this the wire for the sender?

Thought maybe the fan might be on constant as a consequence of the gauge not working?

Nice one

I’ll take a look first thing, hopefully it’s just down to a bad connection.

Check wires inside plastic corrugated sheath not just at plug

I will, common thing to happen on these engines?

The oil leak did get pretty serious tbf and even tho I cleaned up each part as I refitted it all, there’s still some oil residue in some areas that will get cleaned when I’ve established the leak has stopped.
