Spurious alarm at night

Postby Tatstommo » Wed Oct 11, 2017 10:16 pm

My 2016 transit custom factory fitted alarm has suddenly decided to start alarming spuriously...so at regular intervals last night it was going off, which I’m loved getting up, using the remote fob, unlock, relock and hope for the best...

It hasn’t happened once during the hours of daylight, and has went off about 30 mins ago I.e. 2145).

Tonight’s ‘plan of attack’ has been to select the internal sensor to off using the select on the steering wheel.

It is still under warranty and will be going back to be checked, but I just wondered if anyone else has had this infuriating problem???

Close all the air vents also check the bonnet switch in the centre of the slam panel, it is a micro switch which may have got dislodged, may also be another switch or actuator or wiring.

Although I'm sure there's some way of seeing what is setting off the alarm but nothing springs to mind just now

This morning as I was sat waiting for the gym to open, a moth did indeed fly into the side window, sop hopefully that is exactly what it was!!!
