2004 transit central locking

Postby 4x4 tranny » Tue Oct 17, 2017 2:05 am

Hi
Well hopefully some one can help?
When welding up the back doors in my build, removed the hole locking system on the doors, now finished have found out, mmm mybe I stuffed up, as when locking any of the other doors, they keep unlocking them selves.
So been a smart arse disconnected the hole system found van won't start. So back to drawing board.
Have search for wiring pdf but no luck ( ones I can read), is there someone who has one they could send or put me on the right track, either how to over come this or a pdf that I could check how I it be possible to fix this problem.

Thanks in advance.

Each locking actuator has a switch which tells the central locking if the door is open or closed, if a door is open and you lock it by remote then it bounces them all open to show you there's a problem, this is a problem tho because when 1 lock fails they all fail and you can secure the van

The actuators can be disconnected as long as each ajar switch is in the closed position or the wires bridged.

I can't see if or how it can cause a non start tho??

How have you disconnected it all? Is there any chance of a short circuit or anything to drain the battery?

You need a tis disk for diagrams or etis 0508 for online diagrams offline.

Thanks Loot for your input.
Never thought of thed swtiches, ill check that , guess the rear doors had one?
As for not starting, I removed the relays under thd bonnet where a humming sound came from when doors were left open , which were under the water bottle L/H side.
Yes its been a bit hit an miss, so having a wiring diagram make life easier.
Ill check switches an report.

Those relays will hum for a few minutes after turning off...it's totally normal.

Ok , but when disconnecting plugs in door so doors can be locked manually, these relays just keep humming, but engine still starts, but take them out it won't start, when I sort a a wiring semastic, might be able to sort....lol
