Fuel pumps?

Postby Andycush » Mon Oct 30, 2017 4:31 pm

Hi lads, I'm going round in circles regarding my 2003 2.4 tddi 125 fuel pump, on one hand I'm being told I have to use a vp44 pump from the exact same 2.4 125 and any thing from a 90 wouldnt work even after re programming it. Now I'm being told by my mechanic that a pump from a 90 will work once it had been reprogrammed, any of you experts no for sure either way? Also I have fault codes P1664 P1554 P0403 P0404. The van starts and drives OK but is under powered throughout the gear range and very sluggish on hills, 70 mph top speed on motorway. I am going to replace the egr valve and clean inlet manifold to see if it pulls any better but I fear I need a new pump as well, what transit model pumps would acctualy work on my 125. Thanks

Not sure why you're going round in circles, as you were told on your other thread, you can't use a VP30 in place of the VP44, and you need to get a pump with similar numbers due to the later digi dash pump being different :)

Yes but doesn't the 2.4 90 also use the vp44 as well?

No need to be snotty about it why are you actually here if you just want to ridicule people? I thought this was a place where folk wanted to help and not just take the piss

Because you've already been given the info in the other thread maybe?

Said info is also but a forum search away.

I've got a VP44 off a 02 120 that came off my old Jumbo when I swapped motors - new lump came with the updated/modded pump. It would need virginising; I can get done for £50 and all you need to do is time it up, plug it in and let it and the ECU get to know each other for 10mins. Or have someone who has the proper kit code it to your van.

Ideally you want a pump with the same numbers as your original - or the updated/modded version of same - let me know the number on your pump and if it's any good to you, a modest contribution to the race bike fund and post see's a space on my shelf and it coming your way.

No sorry Bambi it was not aimed at you, I have severe issues that effect my cognitive behavior and my short term memory so I apologize if I ask the same questions over and over, no offence meant
