Mk6 90 T350 water pump gasket

Postby Weegee 82 » Mon Oct 30, 2017 11:31 pm

So having to replace my water pump the newly purchased one appears to have recesses in the oil ports where the vacuum pump gasket goes. Fitted the pump with supplied vacuum pump gasket (steel one with o rings embedded into it) and will not seal and have excessive oil leak. Have had so many different answers to this from the pump being at fault to then being told I should have received additional o rings for the recesses. Was wondering if anyone on here could advise on this situation. Once I learn how to, I will post up photos of old & new pumps

I just fitted the original flat gasket, then added "O" rings in the recesses, (nice thick-ish ones), not had a leak since.
