Finding addresses on the android radio navi systems

Postby Thequeenscheese » Sun Nov 12, 2017 12:58 pm

You'll prob want to move this to the correct area as I wasn't sure where to put it..

Heads up on postcode search from the cheaper android units using igo navi, I struggled for ages not being able to get it to find an address, tap address and type the post code into the city section and it works it's poorly designed but that works..

My GPS antenna has a small magnet on it and I just plonked it on top of the radio unit itself under the plastic, not visible...works fine..!

It not a gps problem solution, it's the search software that's a bit iffy..

did you make that surround for the 7" unit to fit the hole in dash or can you buy them, only just realised the original is over 9" wide

You can get a Mk7 "specific" unit, fits the hole nicely and comes with suitable harness etc...:

I’m looking at the cheaper units tbh something around the £120 mark,
I found the fascia panels that fit the original opening and take the 7” stereo so might get one once I’ve picked a unit.
