Daft idea?

Postby GBW » Fri Nov 17, 2017 10:35 am

On our last trip, we were in constant fear of running out of gas. For £2.99, I've bought some digital bathroom scales. They fit nicely under the bottle and I am minded to remove the readout to inside the van.

Anyone done this? Will the constant bouncing destroy them? Transit Mk3 6 wheeler.

Why worry there's plenty of places to get gas?

Thought about this myself, but don’t you have to take bottle off of scale to zero when it auto powers off?

Could you not use one of those luggage weighing things, you know hook it up and weigh it every few days.

One like this. N

Thing is is if you’ve got to pick up/move bottle to weigh even if it’s a few £s aren’t you just spending money to do what your arms are doing anyway?

It's raining, you're not sure whether to have a cooked meal or a salad and is the gas going to run out or not?

The bottle covers the readout but I reckon I can extract the electronics and battery and fit them inside the van.

Alright, I admit, I like gadgets!

Going camping and worrying about rains like going on a beech holiday when you don’t like sand!
