2.9 V6 transit (SVO Police-spec?) gearbox mounting and other

Postby dipstick » Sun Sep 25, 2005 10:49 pm

Please can some one help? I am trying to find out some (any) info on the Police-spec trannies (SVO) , specifically how the MT75 box was attached to the 2.9 V6 engine.....?
I have been told that there was an adapter plate, but can i find one.... ha ha

Does anyone know of anyone breaking a 2.9 V6 tranny, or have any photos or any info at all?
Thanks in advance, please respond to penny11@tiscali.co.uk

Cheers :-)

What year mate? I think you do need an adapter plate (and I didn't know that till I came on here, cos only had diesels!) Can't remember who (maybe madvanman) but somebody has a book on SVO numbers. Just wait a bit and I am sure somebody will help!

dipstick ,the v6 was indeed fitted with a addaptor plate to fit the mt75 gearbox , also engine mounts as well are difrent, the plates are very hard to come by and 2.9 trannys are getting even harder to find, ambulances are the same setup as well ,hopefully somebody will be able to help! :D

Would be nice if we could get a drawing for the plate in autocad - have it stored on here and if anyone wants one print it off and have a local engineers shop make it!!!
as its such a rare part and would be easy to make with a drawing!!!

Infact thinking about it i have the bellhousing shim for a V6 2.8(same as 2.9) and i think a Di - if the box used is a Di one then you could probly get the stud patten measurements from them - whereabouts in the country are you dipstick? (another lazy profile filler-inner   )
If anyone has a photo of one that would help! and is the box thats used a Di one :?:
