Help crash sensor

Postby lwcrs2001 » Wed Nov 29, 2017 8:06 pm

Hi can any one tell me how to reset the crash sensor. I’ve read it’s behind the glove box . Fault code reader doesn’t clear it.
It’s a mark 7 transit , 2012. 2.2 t280.
I need to reset it as van does not start as it thinks it’s been in a crash.

Cheers Lewis

You need for diagnostics (ids) and codes to reset the Rcm(restraints control module).

Or you can swap it for another.

It is at a independent ford garage at the moment. He told me he’s tried clearing it with the diagnostic machine with no joy so said he rang up the ford technical department and is waiting for them to get back to him

On a stage 5 transit mk7,which has in tank fuel lift pump, there is an inertia switch above nsf shocker mount,as said behind glovebox.
It has a yellow rubber cover on top and will click when pressed to reset,if it was activated...

+1.

Yellow square rubber, left side behind glovebox, you might need to remove the box if you are struggling to see it.
