Postby ABA » Mon Dec 11, 2017 1:40 pm

I have a m6 diesel transit standard no mods
going down the m1 early hours Sunday morning came on at junction 29 drove fine got to junction 28 and van went in to like limp mode revs would not go above 2000 no matter what I did so drove down m1 till I got to junction 26 where is where I wanted to come of anyway slowed down came of the m1 went on to the a610 towards Nottingham revs still way down just aprotching a lay bye front drivers tyre went flat so pulled in to the lay bye about 20 foot away jacked up front of van changed the front wheel looked at the wheel I just took of and the tyre was in two pieces on the inside rim was a slit 2 inches from the wheel rim all the way round the tyre so ive changed the wheel and set of again to go home the revs went back to normal carried on and van acted as if nothing had happened

Sounds like a punctured tyre sensor worked and stopped you going too fast, crashing and dying.

Sounds like it could be a broken coil that had slit your tyre on the inside?

I'm guessing the ABS/Traction Control (if fitted) module has had a hissyfit due to the tyre going down...would explain the limp mode at least.....

How your tyre got damaged is beyond me though!!??

Aye, mine went into limp home 2when I ran through a load of coachbolts on the A34 on the way from picking it up and got one in the drivers front.

I would guess the tyre went flat and due to driving on it the rim cut through the tyre. N
