P0235 map sensor question

Postby tjm07 » Sat Dec 23, 2017 10:15 am

After my backward conversion to a mk3 mondeo engine in my mk7 transit, I keep getting p0235 code any time I try and drive with a bit of urgency!! Seems ok until it’s up to about 2.5-3k then flashy glow plug light and limp mode. I am not using to van as a daily driver it is just sitting around at the moment, been to the mot station and back and around the block a few times.Have plugged it in to forscan, and I believe it’s telling me my map sensor is u/s. just wanted to be sure there’s nothing I am missing. Checked voltage at plug pin 1-1.5v pin 2 5v pin 4 to earth, which checks out ok. On live monitoring on forscan map.obdII,kpa stays at 250 regardless of revs. Please see images. Thanks in advance

Change intercooler to one from a mk6. Bolts straight on & MAP sensor fits to it.

Advice taken as always Paul. Intercooler bought on eBay with a map sensor for £25, will update with results.

Intercooler with integral map sensor fitted but the fault still exists, although I now get a different pressure reading for map.obdII, although it doesn’t alter very much when revved, so I am thinking actuator or vac pump? Thoughts and advice please? Weather has been rubbish so not had much chance to get out and poke about
