2008 Ford Transit 2.2 TDCI P002F Fault Code

Postby Danbek1969 » Tue Jan 02, 2018 6:21 pm

Hi

My van is not running as smoothly anymore and I usually have to start it twice and give it some throttle when its cold. Rough Idle for about 20s then ok.

When I drive and hold the accelerator steady, it studders a bit. Power also varies a bit.

I have removed some previous fault codes by changing the PRV, the valve on the diesel pump and the Fuel rail sensor.

Now the Fault Code "P002F Exhaust "B" Cam Profile Control Circuit High (Bank 2)" comes up. Can this be the camshaft sensor or maybe the camshaft is worn?

Any ideas would be nice :)

Thanks in advance

Have you done the full set of learns after fitting the new PRV & SCV..??

Ya beat me to it Andz..!

P002F could be..... Cam position sensor may be duff or the loom to it may be faulty.

Hey

Yes, original parts. A full set of learns? If you mean erased any codes, yes. But the P002F is the only one left.

No, learns are not a code erase....by "learns" we mean, pump, pilot and injector learns, it's actually a sort of calibration, also might need a PCM update if it hasn't been done recently. The pump and injectors need to be "calibrated" to the new valves and vice-versa otherwise it'll never run well.
As the fuel pump, PRV, SCV and injectors wear over time, their flow & pressure characteristics will change slightly....they need re-calibrating every now and then to keep the engine running as well as possible....this is what the "learns" do.

You can do them yourself if you have the right kit to do so, many of us have it...or find a local forum member who may be able to help. IDS can do the learns & PCM update. Forscan can do the learns but I'm not sure if it can do the PCM update if required. :?: :?:

Ford dealers charge a fortune just to plug in their IDS machine, let alone fix anything. If you do go to a Ford dealer be prepared to bend over and take it like a man..!

Here in Aus they charge ~$125 Aussie sheckles just to take a look. This is why I looked into getting my own setup....just two uses and it has easily paid for itself, plus you can help out others. You can get a setup for less than 20 quid and the Forscan program itself is free.

You can get Bluetooth jobbies but I often find they can be a bit flakey sometimes, so I went with USB cable types.

I bought these ones, either work fine for Mk6 & Mk7:

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Forscan ... Sw1JVaBVJ9

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mazda-Ford- ... 2749.l2649

Forscan can be had from here:
