Glow Plug Warning Light

Postby Ozzy1136 » Thu Jan 04, 2018 4:22 pm

Hey everyone,

I have a 2004 MK6 2.4DT LWB van.

The Glow Plug light is flashing on my van all the time, which I suspect has caused the ECU to put it into limp mode.

I have isolated the glow plugs by removing the relay under the bonnet but nothing has changed. I understand it might not be the GP's that are causing the light to flash?

Could anyone suggest any other theories to get the light to stop (other thasn taking the bulb out) cos I'd like it to drive properly?

thanks loads

Ozzy :?:

The glow plug light is also the engine management light.

You have a fault, which needs the codes read.

Hello Mr Ozzy1136,

Now then you see that flashing light as Mr Punto has said is the eml so get the codes read, now not wanting to upset you but as you have the wonderful 135 tdci be prepared to replace the injectors and possibly the pump, unfortunately the 666 tdci is a bit of an evil fuel system that either works or 9 times out of 10 doesn't work.
