VP44 new pump

Fitted a Bosch reconditioned VP44 pump yesterday on van all timing checked was spot on pump bled up really easy as van has got electric pump on top of filter drove 120 miles last night stop start several times no problems came to start this morning turning van turning over but making no attempt to fire is it possible pump has code since yesterday at all thanks

Possibly an air leak..?? Pop the fuel filter off and see if it's still full of fuel.

yes have checked filter full to the top no glow plug flashing and pats light goes out aswell has really got me baffled now got auto sparky coming out in morning to see if laptop shows anything up

check the bango nuts on the pump are tight feed and return

thanks pal checked every thing looks like timing chain has jump and smashed head so looks like I am after a head now and a recovery truck to take it down to garage for me

not been bump started but think putting old chain back on was not a good idea

ffs if you had gone that far and never changed the change then it will do what it done it problem it may have had the shite tensioner on it as well :(

what year is the van ?

if its a 115 on wards I have a head with cams £ 250.00 plus postage :D

its a 2.4 tddi 125 hp on a 52 plate but in very good condition and loaded with goodies so will be getting repaired I hope

what happened t the head cams carrier smashed :?:

and pushed the cams out of the bolts holding it down

not sure yet what damage is not had time to strip it yet but will be on it next week can you buy the cam ladder then or is it a scrap yard job

the head are a matched pair so you will need a full head

Un matched cam carriers and heads dont work as it lock the cams once torqued down correctly :(

been their done it got the t shirt

search the forum it carnt be done :(

:roll: no mate thats a customers

but that one above was towed because it wouldn't start :( and would of been an expensive repair, after investigating the job it turned out to be fuel pump failer and the cost wouldn't be benifical for the customer si i ended up with the van as it wasn't economical for the customer to repair it :D

i took the van as full payment of the work i carried out :( but after 2 years she lives again with a ldv engine init 80,000 miles,had to change a lot of things but its running and i sold it just recently :D :D

and got another van with the deal :D
