Aye, that it is Ned....yep, we do have silly distances here....one side of the country to 'tother, (Brisbane to Perth) is 2696 driving miles, 4338kms.. :shock: Just a short afternoon drive :roll:

Just a tad over 4 times further than John 'O Groats to Land's End..!! :shock:

Me too....have done it twice in the summer many years ago....nearly killed me as the car I was driving didn't have A/C.. :? There's sections on the way where you can drive for three hours straight at ~120kmh and not see another vehicle. :shock:

Yeah...the roads are pretty good now in most parts of OZ unless you get off the beaten track a bit...they were a bit ordinary years ago though, any sort of bad weather had them torn up, took the poor repair crews two days just to get to them..!! :?

You can break springs doin' that..! Yep, certainly keeps me on my toes when riding motorcycle to work etc... :shock:

Those pot holes are awful , hit one in the truck before Christmas and it took the steering out my hand
