ECU QUESTION

Postby DCha10 » Wed Jan 17, 2018 4:23 pm

Can anyone tell me what the last 2 letters on the ECU are for?

Are they interchangeable so to speak?

Mines CC11-12A650-AB and has been declared knackered thru water damage..

Have found another but the last 2 letters are "AC" but everything else matches.

Its not really a £350 gamble i want to take if its not correct.

Thanks in advance

The last two letters usually denote the "revision status" or latest update etc...AA ...AB ...AC etc.

£350?
I paid less than £150 for mine when decided to do my cruise...
Still have the old one somewhere...

Cruise is bcm not pcm :-)

I always say the first is spec and second is revision. But you'll do an initialization pmi so the data from your original should be loaded to it

CC11-12A650-AB is for mk7 2.2 Euro 5 engines

CC11-12A650-AC will fit. BUT it will require to be reprogramed to your mk7 :!:

They are NOT plug & play. Even if you get one with matching part no.
Every van has different / optional features. It still require programming to your van.

Modules after 2010 will start getting tricky Paul because of the e4 and e5 changeover and also 2012 etis coded/incodes changeover too.

I would hope that cc11 means it is incoded access and eg. Bk21/Bk31 denotes custom and mk8?.

Any info that can be added to help the home user would be cool.

Apparently the last 2 letters make no odds

But the 4VFB and S180145001 B are what matters...

So if anyone has one for sale or can point me in the right direction that would be great..

Thanks

Incorrect.

PCM part number is irrelevant. As it changes every time PCM gets updated & the new label never gets printed of & attached to PCM

4VFB is know as "tear tag" & Tear tag or PCM part number can be used for programming PCM with correct calibration for the vehicle it's fitted to .

Again that's irrelevant. As you are replacing PCM for a second unit & then programming it to your vehicle.
There for you can use either the tear tag or part number from you old PCM to program the second hand replacement unit via IDS.
Or you could simply use "As built Data"

Replacement PCM for your van as it's Euro 5. Should be SIEMENS / Continental & have SID 208 on the label.
