Reverse camera and sensor wiring

Postby chuffstix » Mon Feb 12, 2018 4:24 pm

Hi, I'm looking to fit an aftermarket reverse camera and/or sensors to a Mk8 transit.

All advice seems to be to wire these things into reverse light feed so that reversing triggers the device. Is that OK to do on modern transits or are they not so simple?

I'm sure I read somewhere that I might need a relay and wiring into ignition circuit as the voltages sent to the light clusters are not necessarily 12v all the time?

Any advice appreciated.

No need to worry you can join straight in without any issues. I ran the rca cable plus a power cable to the monitor so that the monitor only came on when reverse was selected.
