mk7 transit change my 5 speed to a 6 speed

can anyone help me iv just put a reconditioned engine in my mk7 2.4 rwd so at the same time i fitted a 6 speed also put new clutch kit with flywheel (i havnt changed axle)it still reaches 70mph but its holding back as if im towing something feels like its missing and useing loads of fuel anyone help tony

Top gear is the same in both 5 and 6 speed boxes, so at 70mph, the engine revs will be the same :(

Yes to fully benifit, and tell the van it’s a 6sp and the new axle ratio in the configuration

thankyou so as i havnt changed axle yet is that what could be making it hold back when im on motorway we it sort of intermittently pulls back like as if i towing someone

Are you able to go past 70..??

If it wont' go past 70, your speed limiter may still be "set" to 70.
