Engine over heating - Help required please

Postby Geewhiz » Sun Mar 04, 2018 12:47 pm

Hi Folks , looking for assistance .

I have an 02 year - 2.0 litre transit van. Just your bog standard one. Sorry thats as much info as I know.

The engine is over heating , cutting out . The water pipes etc that run from radiator to water tank / housing where you top up with anti freeze /water isnit heating up , pipes not getting warm ( there isint a blockage as when you squeeze the pipes it is making ripples in the tank . The air / vents inside van is also blowing cold air . It has just had a new thermostat fitted .

Any ideas ? Thanks

The new stat could be faulty?

But quite common is the water pump to fail, it’s run from a splined shaft from the p/s pump and the splines can fail and prevent it turning and circulating
