As far as I’m told if it’s all glass around the sides it’s a minibus then comes under the same rules as a car and will not be affected by driver regs as it’s under 3500 kg so it’s 70mph on motorways and dual carriageways in like a van that’s just front glazed then it’s a commercial vehicle and it’s 50 and 60 limits kickin.

Never been stopped for speeding yet and that with me driving motorways and other roads for 9 years in traffics and transits plus I’m heavy right footed (legally)

I was under the impression that Minibuses have been speed restricted to 62mph, since 2000 (ish) :?

That only applies only to mini buses over 3500 kg or anything carrying more than 10 passengers commercially and not for private use

A company I worked for sold vans, tippers and minibuses. The Transit 17 seaters were classed at 3500kg and for commercial use had to have tachograph fitted and limited to 100 kph (62mph). I thought small vans with seats and windows were classed PLG as a car derived van, as such were subject to car speed limits

Speed limiter must be fitted on vehicles with more than 8 passenger seats, eg buses, minibuses etc
& Goods vehicles with a maximum laden weight of more than 3.5 tonnes.

CDV (Car Derived Vans) have a max weight of 2 tonne (Loaded) :!:

Transit Tourneo is available as
8 passenger seat + driver - can be driven at same speed limits as cars
OR
9 passenger seats or more + driver - Speed limiters must be fitted & subjected to lower speed limits :!:
