When to change the back brake shoes?

Postby rudi » Sat Mar 10, 2018 12:23 pm

Hello Forum, Can someone tell me when it is time to change the back brake shoes? I have driven 80.000 miles with our Ford Transit Camper (85T260)
Thanks. Rudi from Flanders, Belgium.

There will be specs somewhere on minimum thickness?

Or for all they cost, just do it and you’ll probably never have to again

I change mine when the mot fails the brake tester. I use the gears to slow down so don't use them that often or If I feels something's not right I take it apart and check. The front pads will wear out quicker than the rear shoes
