MK7 Recurring Heater Problems :(

Postby zcharythomas » Fri Mar 16, 2018 2:40 pm

Got myself 2011 Ford Transit T330, 2198CC (ex-AA) with 192,000 on the clock. When I picked it up heaters were working absolutely fine for a few days and then it only started blowing cold air. Took it to the Garage he said was probably the pipe, so he squeezed it and an hour later was working again- took it back anyway and got a new one fitted. Worked fine for about a month and a half and it's gone again... Cold air on any setting.
Anyone have any suggestions? It's driving me mad as I use it for work.
Cheers

Mine has a heater tap, on the matrix/heater hoses just before they go through the firewall from the engine bay..! Here:

But it's probably the heater box flap as you say....I think BJT had a fix for this..!

Knobby, they are I believe only fitted on vans with aircon.

Shame really as being able to stop hot water coming through the bulkhead in the summer would benefit all vans.
mk7 08reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD
mk6 X reg 2.4 T350 LWB MHR RWD - scrapped
mk4 J reg 2.5 L300 LWB MHR RWD - sold on

Notice a trend there ? not too big and not too small

Update:
Took it to the garage after further few weeks of cold air. He rang me and said it's fine and blowing hot?! Literally so confused. Anyway I got it back, was blowing hot, too hot, so I turned it to midway- totally cold again now. I'm not a mechanic so what would you guys suggest? Indie garage can't seem to work it out so should I just take it to Ford?
Water levels fine and yeah it has aircon
PS Thanks for your help.

On air con models there is a electrical actuator that controls the hot/cold mix, it’s probably in its way out :?
