AFCMad wrote:Evening all.
Have been looking at a connect which refuses to start.
(Was starting and running fine up until the cold spell the other week.)
Was advised it was a starter motor issue but is cranking lovely.
Oil level was VERY low so topped it up.
Coolant bottle showing signs of oil contamination but not the worst I've seen.
Seems to have no compression and will not even attempt to start on easystart.
And no trouble codes in the ecu
Suspecting a jumped belt
Started to strip down timing belt cover and realised cannot find any timing marks or info on interweb!
Could someone pls point me in the right direction for timing it up?
(If it has jumped then its going somewhere else for repair!)
As usual, thanks in advance for all and any help!!!

hello there you need to strip the engine down
these have a wet belt from crank to pump. and i suspect the wet belt has snapped or stripeed teeth from no oil changes

There are no timing marks. Engine locking kit is used. Locks off crank, cam & FP - (Same as Citroen HDI)
I know there was a recall for these 1.5 engines fitted to Focus. Recall was for cam pulley replacement.
Don't know if it effected 2013> Connects too.
As it's a 2015 model. Would've though still under manfacturer's warranty

It could possibly be the PSA 1.6? My sons 2015 Connect had that engine fitted, but they may well be similar in design
