2012 oil pump failure Turbo seized

Postby bluesurf989 » Sat May 12, 2018 7:05 am

Hi all. Just had a nightmare with my transit, firstly the oil light came on and i lost all oil pressure, upon inspection the oil pump had broken up and failed badly. The garage replaced my oil pump and the engine started lovely with no signs of damage within the engine but unfortunatly the lack of oil has seized the turbo,so a replacement is required.Im having difficulty in finding the part no for a new turbo as i may go for a recon one. The van is a 2012 transit 125 T280 fwd 2.2 euro5 engine Reg FR12WXG, any idea how i get the part no for the replacement turbo? Also anything i should look out for after this disaster!! Many thanks

Tenner says that the head fails shortly after you replace the turbo
Been there, done that.
