Hi all, huge apologies for my first post being yet another fuel pump related one, but there might be someone who can save me some time.
So, I have started my own restoration business up, but, as ever, there has to be a few dirty jobs along the way, A, to help with the cashflow, and B, it was for family! Anyway, 55 plate 2.4 Duratorq Di RWD Hi roof, the engine is toast, nothing new there, and before I have any involvement in the job, they buy a donor van, which is exacly the same van, apart from it's a semi high roof, and its 2002. I then get roped in to swap the engine, and I explain first as last that it might not be "that" simple. At the weekend, I get both Vans side by side, remove both engines and start the task of seeing what is different. It seems that the later engine had a different EGR and inlet setup, so I transfered the whole lot including the loom across to the early engine, as the earlier loom had an additional sensor/plug in the EGR housing. Ok, so, all buttoned up, engine back in, all fluids changed etc, new fuel filter etc, shes a non-start, and I am getting the typical Glow-plug lamp flash. I now plug in my Delhi diag gear, and after having deleted a mass of codes, I am now stuck with the Fuel pump Watchdog sensor fault. So, the only thing I haven't transfered from the original engine is the pump, Is this the problem? I know the older type pumps were programmed to the key, but I thought that that was all controlled by the ECU nowadays?
Look forward to your replies.
