I have a 2001 Transit VH 350L Winnebago motorhome 3rd Gen Mk6. I have found out that unloaded it is at 3500kg, the vehicles GVM. If we removed the solar panels, awning, alloy bull bar, rear mounted toolbox and 3rd house battery we would loose about 150kg still not enough to carry a passenger and travel requirements not to mention it would ruin the motorhome's usefulness. An Engineer has suggested I try and find a higher GVM Transit model and determine what components are different and if an upgrade is possible. He found an Australian compliance plate for what was called a Transit H/D 2, 4.5 Jumbo, 4500kg GVM but I cannot find any specs for it. Can anyone help with a source of technical information for my 350L and a higher GVM vehicle? Our round Australia trip is on hold and we are stuck in Melbourne until something can be figured out. Any information would be appreciated.
