Well, compared Mk7 2,2 tdci to Mk6 2,0 tdci - it is really a suicidal step. An alternative is see the world through the piston whole... Image

The truth about Mk6 2,0/2,4 tdci with Delphi fuel system is that, it was one of the first CR system in Ford history.
In any sevice no one knew what it is and what to do with this. Second thing - first Delphi pomps had their flaws. In effect tdci Delphi got a very low users publicity.
Now, after 20 years - we can say: it's as simple as that diesel CR injection system, very friendly in design and servicing. After correct regeneration it reach mileage 120.000 miles. And no surprise. 8)

It was last in Ford history fuel system made for users and car mechanics. Each following was more closed for sevicing and more expensive in servicing. That is the truth...

I would say that mk6 delphi system was injector problems, mk6 siemens was fuel pump electronics failure, mk7 denso euro 4 was injectors problems that resulted in engine damage and mk7/8 euro 5 is subsystems dpf wiring, misc problems.

Euro 6 well......

So they all have problems ultimately boiling down to how well they get looked after.
